The SAP Revolution in Information Technology

Business No Comments »

Information Technology based business resources need superior services and support apart from meticulous planning of how customers, employees and materials are acquired and then transformed from one state to another. System Application and Products (SAP) through its solution life cycle, has been targeting the business software requirements of small, midsize and large companies, industries and enterprises in all sectors. SAP has been supporting most of the business systems through an integrated system of a single database, versatile enough with discrete applications maintaining discrete data stores needed for a variety of business functions. Key functional areas supported by SAP include corporate services, human resources management, materials management, financials and operations.
Much of the existing data already exists in digital formats of MS Excel spreadsheets or MS Access databases which is being fast uploaded into SAP. Moving data out of these spreadsheets and databases requires either manual data entry or development resources. However, for a fraction of the cost of regular inflexible custom-built development resource, there are easier solutions available which can be used to upload Excel and Access files directly into SAP without any technical expertise. Utilizing the Microsoft Office suite as the data management platform, end users can manipulate and prepare data with ease. These desktop applications have a quick and simple user-workstation based installation process, needing no changes/installations to be made to the SAP systems. Usually, the user-friendly interface can be mastered in a couple of hours and customers have reported to have created their own templates and uploaded data the very same day of installation. These interfaces can be used for a variety of applications within the different SAP modules like automation of SAP data entry, mass maintenance of SAP data, mass uploads of SAP data and SAP data migration.
Most common methods involved in extracting data from SAP include the use of a custom built SAP report or program. Such SAP extraction method allows for quick access to data in the SAP system but does not provide end user flexibility for changing requirements. The use of in-built tools that SAP provides like ABAP query are alternatives, but these are not user oriented and require extensive training and additional authorizations before being put to good use. Simple and easy to use extraction solutions for SAP data are available that provides method to perform ad-hoc queries against a SAP system - creating complex data queries across multiple tables. Data can be extracted into end-user friendly formats such as Excel and Access.
Powerful SAP reporting applications allow end-users to generate enterprise reports for employees, customers and business partners, enabling developers and end users alike to create, distribute and maintain content-rich SAP reports rapidly and easily. The extensive SAP report writing functionality allows users to create complex business reports in minutes, and reports may be exported in several formats including Excel, TIFF, PDF and HTML. The SAP report writer enables the creation of calculated columns, subtotals, grouping of data and insertion of graphics.

Automobile Shipping: Why You Shouldn’t Drive Your Car to the West Coast from Pennsylvania

Auto No Comments »

Rocky roads or long and winding roads with steep twisting turns, sound familiar? On top of the rocky, long, and winding road, there are nasty surprises ready to pounce on you. You will discover this to your dismay if you are gunning for the cheap relocation of your car when you do not want the job done by experienced auto transport or automobile shipping companies in your area.

Traveling by car from Pennsylvania to the West Coast takes about a week or more, to include some breaks in between to rest those sore limbs. The hours spent on the interstate can be grueling; and if you detest those traffic jams during your regular trips from home to office and back, you’re in for bad spell. If you don’t know yet, it’s no joke being on the road for a week, ask any auto transport in Pennsylvania.

Here are the reasons why you should not drive your car to relocate it to a new place:

• Engine trouble. You are no mechanic, why insist on driving your car?
• Running out of gas in the middle of nowhere. This is no horror story from the movies. Yes, this happens—a lot.
• Car overheating without water in sight. Not even praying can save you.
• Getting lost. Need I say more?
Carnapping. This can happen to you during a stop in a county gas station.

These are just some of those honest reasons why you shouldn’t drive that car to the West Coast when you can get reliable companies that do auto transport. Pennsylvania car shipping services are just a call away.

Auto Transport Companies: What They Can Do

Auto transport companies or car shipping services takes care of all the problems of long road trip travel. Admit it. Driving long hours is not always fun. Take the advice and check out the auto transport Pennsylvania has to offer.

These auto transport companies should be able to show their credentials: permit from the Department of Transport, compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and proof that they are a reliable company. The company should have a bevy of transport vehicles to help you decide if they are fit for the running. This should include:

• Enclosed trailers to protect your car from all sorts of weather. This is the fastest and the priciest service available.
• Open trailers, flat bed, or multi-car trailers are the cheapest but slowest service. With all that tonnage, no one can do any speeding.
• Flat bed maybe a little pricey than multi-car trailer.

Again, you have the option to choose between a terminal-to-terminal service or door-to-door choice. The terminal-to-terminal service is a lot cheaper because your car is retrieved at a large storage facility and not in a nearby parking lot.

Before handing over your prized possession, be sure to do the following:

• Leave a little gas (1/4 of it). Fully loaded gas tanks add to the weight.
• Have your car washed.
• Photograph every angle in case of disputes or insurance claims.
• Remove all personal items.
• Remove all electronic gadgets like radios and CD players.
• Turn off the alarm.

When your car is on the road, take the leisurely plane and relax. Let the automobile shipping company do the worrying for you.

My Golf Appreciation

Entertainment No Comments »

Every life must learn what is important and what is not. It took me a while but I managed to realize the value of hitting a golf ball. Here is a semi-humorous tale from my youthful experiences which eventually led to my Las Vegas Golf Package.

As a teenager interested in sports of all kinds I felt that I really should have learned how to properly play the game of golf unfortunately that came later in life. Now, I certainly wish I was one of those people who play the game as if they were born with a golf club in their hand but alas that is certainly not the case. Although I was raised as a child only a couple of miles from a top notch golf course with its far stretching fairways and rolling greens it wasn’t until I grew older and I learned the rudimentary principles of the game that I really had the opportunity to explore the true golf experience.

With living so close to a major course as a youth I had noticed many of the golf balls failed to hit their mark and landed outside the boundaries of the golf acreage dotting the landscape. They appeared like they were little white mounds waiting patiently for a caring hand to retrieve them and put them to a good use. Free time after school usually netted me a few extra hours in which to wander around the greens looking and watching the various players hit the innocent white ball into a small hole. I soon noticed that many of the golf balls were merely left lying perfectly still and never retrieved by the person who hit them originally. I decided it was high time that I began a golf ball collection. I quickly hauled as many of the white balls to my bedroom as I could stick into my lunch pail. I figured if nothing else I could always use them to smack around in the field with a baseball bat.

I had always been considered a serious competitor at sports such as baseball, basketball or football. It was nothing as a teenager to begin a sports game at the crack of dawn and before I realized it the sun was slowly making its way down to the horizon and everyone was packing up to go home. When I grew up the game of golf simply did not exist in my world. It was one of those games that the older adults would sit in front of the TV on Sunday and watch as a man in the background whispered what was going on. It was one of those games where my Uncle Anthony would sit at the Sunday table as we had dinner and talk about people named Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer.

Today, after some serious golf related soul searching, I have been playing the game for at least the last twenty years although I can not honestly say that I am any better now then I was when I played my first game. To me even today the letters PGA do not hold much meaning but I manage to occasionally play a few holes of the game.

My real excitement in life was when I received the Las Vegas Golf Package from my current boss. He had somehow heard that I was a fair golf player and felt I would enjoy the trip and the experience. I believe that he must have mistakenly heard one of my co-workers jokingly saying how well I play while they laughed at the water cooler, but either way I got a free trip to Las Vegas and to the golf course.

As I arrived at the golf course golf course I watched some of the players tee off and was truly impressed at the distance that they could make that ball travel. I never was very good at teeing off. Actually when I think about it I wasn’t very good at anything relating to golf! I finally arrived at the tee off area and looked to the players on each side of me. One by one they began to hit the ball with the skill of a professional golfer. I knew that my face was going to get red as I brought back the club in preparation of my swing. I kept my eye on the ball and slowly started my swing. Much to my surprise the ball went a good distance. Not an Arnold palmer hit but a justifiable start.

The rest of my game went about in a similar manner and in the end I was not as embarrassed by my score as I thought I would be. Although I didn’t even come close to being near the top ten in the game it was still a great experience. Getting the Las Vegas Golf Package was an opportunity that I would not care to pass up. It provided me a chance to get around other golfers and meet people who cared for the game as much as I care for it. I found that during my time on the green I am really provided an opportunity to reflect upon my life and think back to those pleasant days as a youth when I actually learned to really appreciate the game of golf.
